Water Bottling Plant for NATO Forces at Kandahar Airfield (KAF).
C&C was contracted by Supreme food services in the UAE to provide a turn-key water bottling plant on KAF. This included the construction of a specialist 5,520 m2 production facility with custom built drainage, floors and air conditioning system to meet the most stringent US VETCOM and European food production legislation along with 2 x 500m deep wells and associated office and laboratory facilities.
In all, there were 17 charted Boeing 747 aircraft from KRONES company in Germany with a water bottling line capacity of 150,000 liters (300,000 bottles) per day.
C&C had challenges with security, weather and specialist food production legislation not to mention daily oversight from both Supreme construction and Health and Safety personnel along with NATO representatives.
At all times C&C provided professional support, well above basic contract requirements. The result was the most technologically advanced facility in Afghanistan, fully completed within six months of breaking ground.
